What we won´t do to make your web site a success!

I recently submitted a proposal to a new client, who immediately asked me to justify my quote.

It appears that I was a bit more expensive than another quote she´d received.

I was unwilling to become involved in critiquing a competitor´s offer, but the client persisted in asking me what it is that we would do to warrant our fee.

I thought about this for a while, and despite intense reflection, I kept coming back to the things that we wouldn´t do for a new client:

1. We won´t build web pages.

Instead, we´ll build a successful marketing tool.

Many web design companies refer to their "one-stop-web-site-solution" or some similar term. They often cite their services to include "... a complete package - design, development, hosting, maintenance, CMS".

This reads to me as "..a complete package - technical babble, technical babble, technical babble".

Often web design companies show little or no interest or enthusiasm for understanding the business objectives or the market in which their client is operating.

We ensure we understand who your customer is so that we can address the whole point of building your web site - to get your customers to interact and buy from you!

2. We won´t get too excited about our web site programming.

Instead we´ll become passionate about getting your site great search engine rankings.

Many web design companies fail to consider or offer any degree of service that helps promote the site in Search Engines.

3. We won´t complete your web site in record time.

Instead, we´ll take our time to get your site right.

Many web design companies equate successful projects with quick development turnaround time.

They may have many developers and designers available, or perhaps they outsource their work to other countries. What they need is a steady flow of quick turnaround projects, so they often offer less than industry-standard pricing just to keep their people busy.

We prefer to measure success by how much the site is used by your customers. Not how long it takes to build.

When building your site, we will take whatever time it takes. We´ll take time to

• Understand your business and what you are trying to achieve with your site.
• Understand your competitors and how your site will be better than theirs
• Understand what it will take to get your customers to buy from your site.

4. We won´t lock ourselves away until its done.

Instead we´ll involve you at every step and in every decision.

Many web design companies work away in the dark recesses of their offices ( or bedrooms ) and then present you with your web site when it´s all done.

Unfortunately for you, we´ll be involving you at every opportunity to make sure that your happy with everything that we´re producing.

5. We won´t guard our expertise like gold dust.

Instead, we´ll share our expertise and knowledge with you
